I’m having the same problem on Ubuntu 16.04(Windows 10 VPN client worked perfectly!). AFAIK,same as posted above,I completed all 4 steps,have tried importing 3 connections,entered my OpenVPN ID and password correctly – and yet,each time I get “connection failed”,as in “timed out.”
